= Introduction =
Quassel IRC is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one (or multiple) client(s) can attach to and detach from a central core -- much like the popular combination of screen and a text-based IRC client such as WeeChat, but graphical.

In addition to this unique feature, we aim to bring a pleasurable, comfortable chatting experience to all major platforms (including Linux®, Windows®, and MacOS X® as well as Qtopia-based cell phones and PDAs), making communication with your peers not only convenient, but also ubiquitous. 

= First Steps =
Open Quassel IRC by clicking on the KDE button at the bottom-left corner of the screen and navigate to Applications -> Internet -> Quassel IRC.

You will be greeted by a first run wizard. Click ''Next'' to continue.

In the "Setup Identity" screen, you can choose your nickname. Click on the nickname "ubuntu" from the list, and click the ''Rename'' button to change the nickname to one of your choosing.

A new window will pop-up in which you can change the nickname.

Click ''OK'' in the window to save the changes, and then ''Next'' in the wizard screen to continue with the set up.

To finish click ''Save & Connect''

= Connecting to Kubuntu Help Channel =
Open Quassel IRC by clicking on the KDE button at the bottom-left corner of the screen and navigate to Applications -> Internet -> Quassel IRC.

To connect to the ''#kubuntu'' channel on [[http://freenode.net/|freenode]] (the Kubuntu support channel), click on "#kubuntu" in the left panel.

Enter your messages in the field marked by the red box. All conversations are shown in area marked in green.
