Introduction
Good communication with other wiki contributors is essential to making a good resource. Some guidelines:
General Communication
IRC - #ubuntu-doc on irc.freenode.net
Mailing lists - ubuntu-doc
- Comments - when saving your edits, always leave a comment so others can easily see what you are doing easily.
Personal wiki home page - make sure that you are easy to contact by creating a home page on the main Ubuntu wiki or leaving your contact details on your launchpad homepage.
Page Categories and Linking
Review - put pages into CategoryCleanup when they have not been reviewed and be encouraged to discuss your contributions on the docteam mailing list. If you let us know about it, it can be reviewed more quickly and taken out of CategoryCleanup.
Do not link pages on the pages directly linked-off UserDocumentation (eg. Multimedia) until they have been reviewed and are out of CategoryCleanup
Discussing and Subscribing to Pages
- Subscribe to the pages you have contributed to - To do this, click on the Subscribe link of the page you wish to subscribe to.
Use PageDiscussion pages - Pages can be discussed using a discussion sub-page. For an example, see this page's /PageDiscussion page.
Subscribe to the relevant PageDiscussion pages.
