loop-AES and cryptoloop are deprecated in favor of dm-crypt/LUKS/cryptsetup, Currently(2012) leaving open only one -hardware accelerated- disk encryption option (ecryptfs is a file system not a stackable disk encryption). The alternate iso offers guided root encryption dm-crypt/LUKS/cryptsetup/LVM (Video)

*of note: windows "Linux disk utilities" seem to be able to bypass this encryption entirely.
