MuseScore has the following features :
- Unlimited number of staves
- Up to four voices per staff
- Notes can be entered with mouse, keyboard or via midi

Denemo is a GTK frontend to Lilypond.
Rosegarden
Rosegarden is a KDE based DAW which provides scorewriting features. Note: Rosegarden is only installed in earlier versions of Ubuntu Studio, however users of later versions can simply install the rosegarden package from the repositories.
